Medical Cannabis is legal in the State of New Mexico under SB 523- the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act.
The purpose of the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act is to allow the beneficial use of medical cannabis in a regulated system for alleviating symptoms caused by debilitating medical conditions and their medical treatments.

Consult employer's HR Department policies regarding the use of medical cannabis while away from work.

Know your rights as a patient in the NMDOH Medical Cannabis Program (along with federal laws) to avoid arrest, seizure, imprisonment, and a criminal record:

Possession/Purchase limits.;

When, where to use your medicine.

Properly secure and store your medicine.

Dispose medical cannabis properly.

Renew medical cannabis patient/PPL/caregiver license annually (recommended 60 days before expiration).

Do NOT use in the workplace.

Do NOT drive or operate heavy machinery while utilizing medical cannabis.

Do NOT use medical cannabis in public.

Do NOT use cannabis on/near a school.

Do NOT attempt to take medical cannabis out of New Mexico.
